たきぎがなければ火は消え、 人のよしあしを言う者がなければ争いはやむ。

キャンプファイヤーが大好きで違法ではなかったら、毎日、庭でやっているかもしれません。しかし、この聖句では火は悪いこと、噂話を例えています。陰口などは人間関係の問題を大きくしますし、どういう状況なのかは関係なく、私が問題に直接関係がないなら、その会話に入るべきではない。
直接関係ある場合は、他の人と話すのではなく、直接相手と話をすれば、問題は小さいまま、解決できます。

Where no wood is, there the fire goeth out; so where there is no talebearer the strife ceaseth. Proverbs 26: 20
I love campfires and burning wood, and I would love to do it my yard, but it is not allowed. But, in this verse, fire is a bad thing as it represents problems between people. Problems are made bigger when we dwell on situations, and when we talk about the problems with people who are not part of the problem or the solution. When we go to the source of the problem with humility and love, the problem will be taken care of quickly. Gossip is never right under any circumstance.
